The celebrated Master Perfumer Dominique Ropion reveals a uniquely faceted, raw, intense vanilla extract: vanilla Bourbon infusion crafted for YSL Beauty to yield the full-bodied richness of the couture material. “I wanted to emphasize the leathery nuance naturally found in vanilla and to work the perfume around the contrast between this aspect and the gourmand character of the ingredient with its creamy, warm, sensual facets”, Dominique Ropion explains. In BABYCAT, the pod of the vanilla orchid remembers that, like the leopard, it is a creature of wild nature. To magnify its dark side and tease out its claws, the Master Perfumer has created a sensual, enveloping suede accord combining exotic spices and sizzling resins.

THE INSPIRATION

Since then, from the iconic Fall/Winter 1982-1983 couture collection to today’s cult designs, Yves Saint Laurent’s Babycat print has prowled its way onto evening dresses, pussy-bow blouses, killer stilettos and countless covetable accessories.
